Private voice and piano lessons for all ages and levels — in a warm, encouraging studio where music-making is genuinely joyful.
Hi — I'm Amy. I've been teaching voice and performance in Westbrook, CT for over fifteen years, and the thing I love most about my work is still the same as it was on day one: watching someone discover what their voice can do.
My studio is relaxed, encouraging, and a little bit social — I genuinely believe that music-making is a communal act, and lessons should feel like a conversation, not a performance review. I accompany every voice lesson on piano, which means you're always singing with live music, not a backing track.
I trained at the Eastman School of Music and have performed professionally in classical, musical theatre, and jazz settings. I teach all of it, and I'll meet you wherever your musical interests live.
Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or preparing for an audition, there's a lesson format that fits.
Private one-on-one vocal instruction with live piano accompaniment. We work on breath, tone, range, diction, and — most importantly — confidence. All styles welcome.
From reading your first note to playing full pieces, piano lessons build musicianship and theory alongside technique. Great for beginners and returning students.
Preparing for an audition, a recital, a wedding, or a school performance? These focused sessions combine vocal technique, stage presence, and the mental game of performing.
Not sure which lesson type is right? Send me a message — I'm happy to chat before you book.
Music lessons should be the best part of the week — not the stressful part. Here's how I try to make that true.
The best voice teachers don't just teach technique — they teach you to trust your own instrument. That's what I try to do in every single lesson.
Real words from real students — of all ages and starting points.
"Claire has this amazing ability to make you feel completely at ease before you even sing a note. My daughter was terrified of her first lesson and left singing in the car. That was three years ago — she still can't wait for Tuesdays."
"I came to Claire at 42, having never taken a music lesson in my life. I genuinely thought it was too late. She proved me wrong in about four weeks. I performed at the studio recital last spring and cried the whole drive home — happy tears."
"I was preparing for a college musical theatre audition and needed serious help in six weeks. Claire was surgical — we overhauled my song choice, my presentation, and my breath support. I got in. I don't think I would have without her."
"My son has ADHD and we were worried lessons would be a struggle. Claire is patient, funny, and keeps things moving in a way that works for him. He's been playing piano for two years and asks to practice. That's the miracle."
"What sets Claire apart is that she plays piano for every voice lesson. Singing with live accompaniment is completely different from a recording — it's musical, responsive, and it makes you better faster."
"I've taken lessons with four teachers over the years. Claire is the only one who actually figured out what was wrong with my upper register — and fixed it in two lessons. She knows her craft cold."

The first lesson is always free — no commitment, no pressure. Just come in, sing something, and we'll figure out where to go from there.
