Music is better
when it's personal.

Hi — I'm Amy. I've been teaching voice and performance in Westbrook, CT for over fifteen years, and the thing I love most about my work is still the same as it was on day one: watching someone discover what their voice can do.

My studio is relaxed, encouraging, and a little bit social — I genuinely believe that music-making is a communal act, and lessons should feel like a conversation, not a performance review. I accompany every voice lesson on piano, which means you're always singing with live music, not a backing track.

I trained at the Eastman School of Music and have performed professionally in classical, musical theatre, and jazz settings. I teach all of it, and I'll meet you wherever your musical interests live.

Lessons for every
stage of the journey

Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or preparing for an audition, there's a lesson format that fits.

🎤

Private one-on-one vocal instruction with live piano accompaniment. We work on breath, tone, range, diction, and — most importantly — confidence. All styles welcome.

  • Classical, musical theatre, pop & jazz
  • 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions
  • Ages 8 and up
  • Audition and competition prep
  • Live piano in every session
🎹

Piano Lessons

From reading your first note to playing full pieces, piano lessons build musicianship and theory alongside technique. Great for beginners and returning students.

  • Beginner through intermediate
  • Classical, contemporary & pop styles
  • Ages 6 and up
  • Music theory integrated throughout
  • Recital opportunities each year
🎵

  • Stage confidence & presence
  • Musical theatre & classical auditions
  • Recording session prep
  • Single sessions or short packages

Not sure which lesson type is right? Send me a message — I'm happy to chat before you book.

A studio that feels
like home.

Music lessons should be the best part of the week — not the stressful part. Here's how I try to make that true.

🎹
Live Piano in Every Voice Lesson
No backing tracks. Every voice student sings with a real pianist — which means better intonation, better phrasing, and a much more musical experience.
🤝
Genuinely Personal Instruction
I remember your goals, your struggles, and what made you laugh last week. Lessons feel like conversations because that's what they are.
🌟
Performance Opportunities
Annual studio recitals, plus support for school productions, competitions, college auditions, and any performance that matters to you.
📅
Flexible Scheduling
Mornings, afternoons, evenings. I work around your schedule, not the other way around. Easy rescheduling when life happens.
"

The best voice teachers don't just teach technique — they teach you to trust your own instrument. That's what I try to do in every single lesson.

What students & parents say

Real words from real students — of all ages and starting points.

★★★★★

"Claire has this amazing ability to make you feel completely at ease before you even sing a note. My daughter was terrified of her first lesson and left singing in the car. That was three years ago — she still can't wait for Tuesdays."

Margaret H.
Parent of a student, age 9
★★★★★

"I came to Claire at 42, having never taken a music lesson in my life. I genuinely thought it was too late. She proved me wrong in about four weeks. I performed at the studio recital last spring and cried the whole drive home — happy tears."

Robert K.
Adult voice student
★★★★★

"I was preparing for a college musical theatre audition and needed serious help in six weeks. Claire was surgical — we overhauled my song choice, my presentation, and my breath support. I got in. I don't think I would have without her."

Olivia M.
Pre-college audition student
★★★★★

"My son has ADHD and we were worried lessons would be a struggle. Claire is patient, funny, and keeps things moving in a way that works for him. He's been playing piano for two years and asks to practice. That's the miracle."

Dana & James T.
Parents of a piano student, age 10
★★★★★

"What sets Claire apart is that she plays piano for every voice lesson. Singing with live accompaniment is completely different from a recording — it's musical, responsive, and it makes you better faster."

Priya S.
Voice student, 3 years
★★★★★

"I've taken lessons with four teachers over the years. Claire is the only one who actually figured out what was wrong with my upper register — and fixed it in two lessons. She knows her craft cold."

Thomas W.
Baritone, adult student
