Classically trained, conservatory-schooled, and still convinced that the best reason to learn piano is that it's a joy. In-home and virtual lessons across the shoreline.

About

Rigor, without
the severity.

I hold a Bachelor of Music in classical piano performance from Western Connecticut State University and a Bachelor of Arts with a music concentration from the University of Connecticut, and I studied under Neal Larrabee and Patricia Lutnes — a teaching line that runs, pupil to teacher, back to Beethoven.

I've also played in a rock band, written my own material, and spent fifteen years learning that none of the above matters if a student dreads the lesson. So the technique is serious and the room is not. That combination is the whole method.

Lessons in your
living room.

I teach in students' homes across Madison, Guilford, Fairfield and Westport — no commute, no waiting room, and every lesson happens on the instrument the student will actually practice on. Virtual lessons are available anywhere.

Once a year, every student who wants to plays in the June recital. It's low-pressure, well-run, and the only deadline anyone here gets.

Lessons

Three ways in.

Every student gets an individual plan. These are the shapes it usually starts in.

01

Young Beginners

A first real relationship with the instrument — reading, rhythm, and hand position, built around music a kid is actually excited to play.

  • Ages 6 and up
  • 30 or 45 minutes
  • Method books + pop & film
  • June recital
02

Advancing

Serious technique, repertoire and interpretation for students who've caught the bug — through college and conservatory audition preparation.

  • Intermediate to pre-college
  • 45 or 60 minutes
  • Theory & composition
  • Audition programs
03

Adults

For returning players and total beginners alike. Relaxed, specific, and built entirely around what you want to be able to play.
